FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Third Party Liability Insurance (T.P.L.I.) is included in the price. In case of a traffic accident with your vehicle which shows your civil liability to third parties for bodily injury and / or property damage, we pay an allowance to cover their legal requirements, up to the maximum amount provided for in your contract, for each risk covered.

Third parties are not considered: the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident, any person whose liability is covered by the contract, the contracting party and the legal representatives of the legal entity that is insured or a company that has not acquired legal personage.
Uninsured Vehicle Coverage: The insurance also covers compensation for the material damage that will be caused to your vehicle in case you are involved in a car accident with an uninsured vehicle, which is solely responsible for the event (insurance capital up to € 10,000 with € 300,00 excess) (No Excess at Collaborative Car Workshops). In this case, the compensation is paid after you provide us with all the necessary supporting documents, which prove the sole responsibility of the uninsured vehicle, such as a copy of the Incident Report from the Police Authority seized from the incident and the Criminal Case. The maximum amount of compensation is indicated in the Insurance Outline.

Security deposit: Is a sum of money that a we hold on to until the customer returns the rental car. We use this money to pay for any unexpected charges such as damages to the car and parking tickets. The customer can usually use their credit card for the deposit or sometimes a debit or check card. We also accept cash deposits. Security deposit is usually either a set amount or determined with a specific calculation method. The exact amount depends on various aspects, such as the rental time, type of insurance, car type, etc.

Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.)

Economy €9 / Day The customer will be responsible from €0 to €950, more than €950 will be covered by the insurance company. In case of an accident if the damage is up to €950 it will be coverd by the customer if it is more than €950 the customer will cover €950 and the rest will be covered by the insurance company

Compact €11 / Day The customer will be responsible from €0 to €1050, more than €1050 will be covered by the insurance company. In case of an accident if the damage is up to €1050 it will be coverd by the customer if it is more than €1050 the customer will cover €1050 and the rest will be covered by the insurance company

Station Wagon 7 seats €12 / Day The customer will be responsible from €0 to €1050, more than €1050 will be covered by the insurance company. In case of an accident if the damage is up to €1050 it will be coverd by the customer if it is more than €1050 the customer will cover €1050  and the rest will be covered by the insurance company

Mini Bus 9 seats €16 / Day The customer will be responsible from €0 up to €1800, more than €1800 will be covered by the insurance company. In case of an accident if the damage is up to €1800 it will be coverd by the customer if it is more than €1800 the customer will cover €1800 and the rest will be covered by the insurance company.

 

  • Full Damage Waiver Silver (F.D.W.S.) €21 / day, the insurance company will cover damages from €100 up to €3.500 the customer will be liable for damages €0 to €100 and for damages more than €3.500. In case of an accident if the damage is up to €100 it will be coverd by the customer, if it is up to €3.500 the customer will cover €100 and the rest will be covered by the insurance company, if it is more than €3.500 the customer will pay the first €100 the insurance will pay up to €3.500 and the customer will pay the remaining amound.
  • Full Damage Waiver Gold (F.D.W.G) €26 / day the insurance company will cover damages from €100 up to €5.500, the customer will be liable for damages €0 to €100 and for damages more than 5.500 €. In case of an accident, if the damage is up to €100 it will be coverd by the customer, if it is up to €5.500 € the customer will cover €100 and the rest will be covered by the insurance company, if it is more than €5.500 the customer will pay the first €100 the insurance will pay up to €5.500 and the customer will pay the remaining amound.
  • SPECIAL NOTE:
    All of the insurances, do NOT Include:

    1. Lost, or damaged Keys
    2. Damages to the underside of the car
    3. Flat tire caused by a stony or dirt road, or nail
    4. Traffic Violations
    5. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
    6. Participation in car racing
    7. Entering the sea
    8. Damages from a pet

    Also, for the road assistance:

    The insurance does not cover you, in case you drive on a stony or narrow road to remote beaches, where the road assistance truck cannot come, or if stuck in the sand.

 

  • The Security Deposit , as well as the Excess, includes as covered the following items:
    Vehicle bodywork damage, including locks, hubcaps, roof, undercarriage, etc.
    Damage to vehicle glass, such as windscreen, side windows, etc.
    Damage to vehicle wheels and tyres.
    Refund on administration costs incurred.
    Damage or loss of keys.
    Damage from a pet
    Ιf there is a difference in charges of the above items, it will be refunded by our office, added by the customer, or covered by the insurance!

Driver’s age
23 to 74 years.

Young driver’s age: Minimum 23 years.

Senior driver’s age.: 75 to 80 years.

Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to hire a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.

Driver’s licence
A full licence held for minimum of 3 years with no major endorsements.
* For countries in the EU, as well as Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, the local driver’s license is required.
* For countries mentioned in the Vienna Convention, you need the local license with the condition that it is formed like a credit card and all the details are in Latin characters.
* For all other countries, such as America, Canada, Australia, China, an International License is required along with the Local License.

Additional driver
Additional drivers can be added to your rental for a charge of €2 / day. Includes 24% tax. Please pay for additional drivers at the rental desk when picking up your vehicle.
For additional drivers, the same terms as the main driver are applicable.

Form(s) of ID
A valid photo ID (passport or national ID).

What about mileage allowance?

All information about mileage allowance can be found in the Terms and Conditions (T&C) under the “Your rental includes” paragraph. If your rental does not include unlimited mileages, then the exact miles allowance is mentioned further down in the Terms and Conditions document under the “Mileage information” paragraph.

What fuel/refuel policy does my car have?

This information can be found on the Terms and Conditions (T&C) under the ‘Fuel Policy’ paragraph. During the booking procedure, the Terms can be found in the Car Selection page near the photo of each vehicle. After a reservation gets confirmed, this information is also stated on your confirmation Voucher.

What fuel does my car take?

Once you pick up the car, the representative at the rental desk will advice you what fuel type is required for the car. Usually there is an indication at the petrol cap as well.

Do I have to pay a one-way fee – and if so, how much is it?

All one way charges (if applicable) are always calculated and included in the rate you see on the website after selecting your preferred pick up and drop off location.

Is it possible to cross the border with the rented car?

Terms and Conditions “T&C” specify this information for you. If the selected offer doesn’t mention the country that you wish to visit, then please select another offer in the car selection page.

If you are interested for an international travel, please send your request at least 15 days prior to collecting the car. The cost for the Green Card that extends the CDW to other countries is €120 (VAT excluded) for groups A, B, C or D.

TW (Theft Waiver) is not included for cross border and the company is not responsible to replace the car in case of an accident. The rental company is not responsible for towing and replacement car outside the borders of Greece. The customer is obliged to return the car in the location at date and time according the rental agreement.

Colision Damage Waiver (CDW) is also not included for cross border.

Cross border without notice and written permission by European Cars is forbidden and then the insurance is deemed void. Furthermore International travel is forbidden without a Green Card. If the Green Card is lost, the customer is obliged to contact the local office immediately.

Ferry-travel: Ferry use is not allowed without permission. If you are interested in using ferry boat, please inform us at time of pickup. Ferry-travel fee is payable at the rental desk.

Additional restrictions may apply for certain countries.

How do I add Optional extras/equipment?

Easy, after selecting the car category, next page will display you all available optional extras and their prices.

How do I add an additional driver?

You can add an additional driver when you’re booking your car. After selecting the car category, you will be able to see the page with all the ‘Optional Extras’ this offer provides. Please also include the number of the additional drivers from the drop down list when you select this option.

You can also add an additional driver when you arrive at the rental counter to pick up your car.

NOTE: All age and licence requirements of the main driver, also apply to additional drivers.

What are the additional driver’s requirements?

If you have added someone as an additional driver, they’ll need to be with you when picking up your car. If you can’t take them with you when you pick up the car, you can take them back to the counter and add them later on. The requirements about the main driver also apply to any additional drivers. Thus, please check under Terms and Conditions (T&C) for the exact driver’s requirements.

How do I add a child car seat / baby seat?

You can select a child seat/ baby seat while you’re booking your car. When adding the child seat don’t forget to select the age of your child/children in order our local car rental partner to provide you a child seat / baby seat in the requested specifications.

How do I pay for extra equipment?

All the charges for the extra equipment are included in the final price, as long as you have added them to your reservation during the booking procedure.

Extra options can be subject to availability even when booked. No charge made locally for unavailable items.

How do I pay for my booking?

All the reservations is on request. When you make a booking request, we receive a message about your reservation and we answer According to availability. After youre agreement to our offer, we send you a safe link, to make your payment through Stripe using your credit card, or through Paypal.

What currency do I use to pay for the car?

Our website provides several currency choices from which you can select during the booking procedure.

Why was my payment declined?

It might happen, communication problems can occur because of typing mistakes in the credit card information, when you entered the credit card details. You can try using another credit card or contact your credit card provider.

Can I rent a car if I don’t have a credit card?

Yes, you can book online using one of the other available payment methods but locally, almost all of our rental partners will need a credit card at the rental desk under the name of the main driver.

The most common reason for the credit card is the guarantee deposit that has to be placed for the rental.

Will I have to leave a security deposit when I pick my car up?

Yes. When you pick-up the car, the representative will ask you to leave a deposit in case of Damage or Theft of the car during your rental. The security deposit / guarantee amount will be temporarily blocked/charged on the credit card of the main driver and held for the duration of the rental.

Once you return the car back without damage, the deposit/guarantee amount will be released/ refunded to the credit card. The charge back might take seven to 21 working days, depending on your bank.

If for any reason the main driver’s card does not have enough funds for the deposit, the representative might not give you the car or might offer you additional insurances/cover to waive the deposit/guarantee amount.

How much will be the security deposit amount?

The exact amount that you’ll need to leave as a deposit varies depending on the vehicle. Details about the deposit can be found in the ‘Terms and Conditions’ (T&C).

During the booking procedure on the Car selection page please search for the link “T&C” near the photo of each vehicle. Just click on the “T&C” and review the “Payment” paragraph for details related to the deposit.

When a booking gets confirmed, the exact deposit amount can be found on the ‘Terms and Conditions’ document. This is available though our customer page ‘My Booking’.

Why do I have to pay a security deposit at the counter?

The security deposit / guarantee amount is required in order to cover any missing fuel, speeding / parking fines – or in case you return the car damaged, late or dirty.

Will I have to pay for anything when I collect my car?

Yes. When you pick up your car the remaining amount payable stated on your voucher has to be paid at the rental desk.

You’ll also have to leave a deposit for the car in order to pick it up.

Any extra item that will be accepted at the rental desk is not included in our e-Voucher and has to be paid locally to our local car rental partner.

There may be other charges, depending on where you’re hiring as they can not always be calculated beforehand. A few examples are:
– Government taxes
– local contract fees
– credit card fees

What is a voucher?

It’s your Car Rental confirmation document which has to be presented at the rental desk upon the pick up of the vehicle.

Where can I find my voucher?

As soon as your booking is confirmed, it will be confirmed after you pay 50% of the total cost, an e-mail with the voucher link will be sent to you. Furthermore, you will also be able to visit “My Booking” page where you can find all the relevant documents of your upcoming rental such as Terms, voucher and receipt.

What if I haven’t received any confirmation Voucher of my booking?

Most of the bookings get an instant confirmation, in some rare cases it might take up to 48 hours. Please click here to contact with us.

Where can I find the General Terms of Use of an offer?

The General Terms of Use are available throughout the booking procedure. In the Footer section of every page please search for the title “General Terms of Use”. Please read them carefully for a smooth rental.

Where can I find the Terms and Conditions of my booking?

After your booking gets confirmed you will be able to find these Terms in our customer page “My Booking”. To login please use your email address and the order number of your booking.

These Terms contain the inclusions or exclusions of your rental, what you need to hold with you to get the vehicle, what are the acceptable payment methods of our partner at the rental desk, what guarantee you will have to place for the vehicle and what coverage you have, what the fuel policy will be at the rental desk, any details about the extra services you would like to add and any specific information that could be related with the rental desk / company.

Where do I find my receipt?

As soon as your reservation is confirmed you can login to ‘My Booking’ page and see all the relevant documents of your upcoming rental. These include your Receipt for the online payment, Voucher and Terms. To log in to this page please use the booking number and your e-mail address, and then select “Rental documents”.

How do I request an invoice?

Easy! In order to issue an invoice for the online payment under a company’s details please contact us via Contact Us page or send us an E-mail and include the following information: (1) name of the company, (2) address (3) VAT number.

For reservations of vehicles prepaid 90 days before deliver to the customer : 

For cancellation from 90 days up to 16 days before delivery, the company returns 50% of the total rent amount.

For cancellation from 15 days up to 8 days before delivery, the company returns 25% of the total rent amount.

For cancellation from 7 days until the day of delivery of the vehicle,the company returns 15% of the total rent amount.

Early Vehicle Return: 25% of the remaining rental amount is refunded, minus VAT.
*The amount that will be calculated is proportional to the days that vehicle was kept, price list basis and not to initial rental time.

Amending your booking or cancelling optional extras may not be possible less than 24 hours before pick up.

If you purchased our Damage Refund Insurance product and have since decided to cancel your car rental booking, the Damage Refund Insurance will be cancelled automatically.

If you wish to amend or rearrange your booking, the Damage Refund Insurance will initially be cancelled. We will, however, automatically create a new policy for your new booking.

In both cases you will receive an email to confirm the cancellation at the email address you have provided during the online booking process.

Please be aware that if you cancel your insurance policy less than 24 hours before the start of your car hire agreement, no refund for insurance will be granted.

What is a no-show?

A ‘no-show’ occurs for the following reasons:

You didn’t inform us about your cancellation prior to your pick-up time.

You failed to pick up the car at the arranged time and date.

You failed to provide the documentation that’s required to pick up the car.

You failed to provide a credit card in the main driver’s name with enough available funds on it.

In the event of any of the above, no refunds will be made to you.

The car hire company reserves the right to refuse a car if you fail to arrive on time with all necessary documentation and a credit card with enough available funds for the car’s security deposit. In such a case, unless the car hire has been cancelled at least 24 hours in advance, you will not be entitled to a refund.

Can I upgrade my car?

Yes, you can upgrade your car. Changing the car will also change the price of the rental.

Sometimes our local car rental partner might offer you an upgrade when picking up the car. If you decide to upgrade the car directly at the counter, you will have to pay for the upgrade directly at the station.

Can I extend my booking?

Of course you can! If you haven’t started your rental yet. Any changes you make to your booking will probably change the total rental price.

Once you’ve picked your car up, please contact the car hire company directly if you want to extend your booking or please create a new reservation online for the rest of the days.

If you drop the car off later than arranged on your Voucher, the car hire company will charge you a late fee.

How do I change my pick-up or drop-off times?

We can try to change the time you pick up or drop off your car, as long as the rental has not started yet.

If you change your booking in any way, it is likely that the price will change.

How do I change the main driver?

You can change the name of the main driver but you will have to provide all the details required such as driver license, ID, how long he has had his driver license etc.

How do I update my email address?

If you notice that you have entered a wrong email address to your booking or that you have a typing error, then you should contact our office via email or phone and provide them with the new email.

For any change you want to make to your reservation the best way to do it is to contact the office from which you are picking the car up and let them know. You can contact via mail or phone and we will try to find the best solution for you free of charge. 

Can I collect the car early?
Yes, in most cases you will be able to collect the car earlier than the confirmed time. Please note this depends on the availability of the reserved vehicle.

If you rental plans change in advance, you can always amend your booking to the preferred pick up time via our customer page ‘My Booking’. Any change you make to your booking will probably change the total rental price.

When should I pick up the car?
Try to pick it up as close as possible to the time specified during the booking procedure. If you are running late please contact the car rental company on the number indicated in your confirmation voucher.

What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If you added your flight details to your booking, the car rental company will be able to track your flight and may hold the car for you for some time.

If your flight is delayed it is important to call the local car rental station using the contact number of the company displayed in your confirmation voucher as soon as possible.

What should I do when I get my car?
Check the car
Walk around the car and look inside, checking for damage. If you find any, ask the car hire company agent to mark it on your rental agreement. Take pictures so you can be confident about what the car was like to start with.

Check what fuel it takes
Open the cap to see if it’s petrol or diesel. Petrol might have ‘95’ on it. If you’re not sure which fuel the car takes, ask the agent before you leave.

Look at the dashboard
Rental car fuel is checked and provided on a ‘checked level’ basis, which means you start with a checked level tank and you return the car with the same level. Turn the key to check the fuel tank level (and the headlights work).

Sort your route
If your car has GPS, it’s worth setting it to your language before you head off.

Take a moment
Once everyone’s safely strapped in, take a minute to adjust the mirrors, move the seat, find reverse and check where the indicators are.

Look out for a petrol station
When you’re heading off, look out for a petrol station. It’ll save any last-minute stress about filling the car up before you take it back.

How do I return the car?
In your confirmation voucher the drop off address of the car rental company is indicated as well as the exact meeting time. However, we strongly recommend you to arrange the drop off details with the car rental representative at pick up.

Your car will be checked over when you return it.

We recommend to keep any paperwork you are given.

Can I drop the car off later than my drop off time?
It depends on the reservations and if the vehicle you reserve, is not booked after your return to another customer. If you haven’t started your rental yet, you can change the dates via email and ask for amend your reservation. Any changes you make to your booking will probably change the total rental price.

Once you’ve picked your car up, please contact the car hire company directly if you want to extend your booking or please create a new reservation online for the rest of the days.

If you drop the car off later than arranged on your Voucher, the car hire company will charge you a late fee.

What if I want to pick up or drop off my rental car outside working hours?
During the booking procedure please select the exact pick up and drop off hours of your rental. This way our system will show you the extra charges and we will reply according to availability.

NOTE: If any extra charge is applied for the out of operating times is always included in our final prices.

Is it possible to drop off the car at a different location?
Yes, we allow you to have different pick up and drop off locations, . On the search engine, we provide you with the option to “Return car to another location”. This will enable you to select one of the available return locations, and we will reply according to availability.

When will my security deposit be released?

Once you return the car back without a damage, the security deposit/guarantee amount will be released/ refunded to your credit card. This transaction usually takes from 7 to 21 working days to appear. Contact your bank first in order to check it.

Why have I been charged by the car rental company?

When you make a reservation by our booking system, is on request. Only after your deposit of the total amount, your reservation is considered as confirmed.

However, you might decide to purchase extra equipment or upgrades locally (e.g.  different vehicle category). In these cases we might charged you with extra fees.
After your rental period, our local car rental partner may charge you for refuelling, parking tickets, fines or damages to the vehicle. Keep in mind the representative should list any charges on the paperwork he/she gives you (although some fines and parking tickets might arrive later).

Can I get a refund if I returned my car early?

In case that you wish to drop the car off earlier than the confirmed pick up and drop off times, we will not refund any amount for the unused days.

This is because we will have committed to the whole booking on your behalf, and the we have been expecting the car to be used for the whole period. We have planned our vehicles and parking needs around the original booking.

What if I have queries after my rental has finished?

For any queries after your rental ends, please contact us via email and attach any relevant documents to your request.
